Companion Upright Monuments
A companion upright monument marks a dual cemetery plot and carries the family’s name across one piece of stone. It sits on a wider base than a single upright, with two inscriptions side-by-side on the tablet — most often a married couple, sometimes parents or siblings. We cut companion uprights in granite, marble, and bronze, with granite the most common choice because it does not pit or fade in Texas weather and holds laser-engraved portraits cleanly for the life of the monument.
Families often order a companion upright after the first spouse has been laid in place and leave the second death date open on the carving. We can return to the cemetery later and engrave the final date directly on the stone — no removal, no disturbance of the foundation. The tablet has room for a shared family name across the top, dates and inscriptions on each side, and shared artwork — a wedding ring, scripture, a family scene — across the middle.
