Cemeteries in Crane

Single Upright Monuments for Crane-area cemeteries

Since 2001 we have been cutting, engraving, and setting monuments for families in the oilfield country of West Texas, including Crane and the rest of Crane County. Families in Crane often work with us on markers for Crane Memorial Cemetery, among other local cemeteries. Granite is the material families pick most often for a single upright because it stands up to Texas heat, freezes, hail, and wind without weathering the lettering. Call us at (806) 662-8696 for a custom quote, or send us the cemetery section you have purchased and we will draw a single upright monument option to scale.

Questions, plainly answered

FAQ — single upright monuments in Crane.

Are single upright monuments allowed in every cemetery in Crane?

It depends. Newer memorial-park sections in and around Crane often restrict markers to flush bronze or flush granite, while older municipal and church cemeteries allow upright monuments. Call the cemetery office before you order and we will design a single upright that meets the section's rule.

How tall can a single upright monument be in Crane?

It depends. Tablet height limits are set by the cemetery, not by us — most fall somewhere between 24 and 48 inches above the base. Send us the section your cemetery has approved and we will design within their rule.

Does Texas Lonestar Monuments serve families in Crane?

Yes. We have been setting markers for Permian Basin families since 2001 — Midland, Odessa, Big Spring, and the smaller towns out to Kermit. Call (806) 662-8696 for a custom quote.

What do I need to know about cemetery rules in Crane?

It depends. Every cemetery in the Permian Basin has its own size, shape, and bronze-versus-granite rules — Resthaven and Sunset Memorial Gardens are different, even though they sit a few miles apart. Check with your cemetery office for the current rules, or send us the cemetery name and we will confirm them for you.

Can you make a fully custom monument for our family in Crane?

Yes. We design custom monuments to commemorate the life of you or your loved one. Granite, marble, and bronze, with single, companion, and ledger shapes; laser engraving and sandblasting for lettering and detail. Call (806) 662-8696 for a custom quote.

What materials do you offer for a single upright?

It depends. Granite is the most popular for its ability to withstand extreme climates and temperatures; we also cut marble and offer bronze face panels mounted on a granite tablet. Send us the section your cemetery has approved and we will recommend the material.

What is the difference between a single upright and a companion upright?

It depends. A single upright is sized and lettered for one person on one grave space; a companion upright is wider and lettered for two — typically a couple — across two adjacent spaces. The construction and materials are the same; the difference is the size of the tablet and the layout of the inscription.

Can you add a photograph to a single upright monument?

Yes. We laser-engrave portraits directly into black or dark granite, and we set porcelain photo inlays into lighter stones. Both are weatherproof; the choice is mainly about the look and the photograph you are working from.

How long does a granite single upright last outdoors?

It depends. A granite single upright set on a proper concrete foundation will commonly stay level and unweathered for many decades. The variable is the foundation work, not the stone.

Do I have to buy a monument from my funeral home or cemetery?

No. A funeral home or cemetery is lawfully unable to force you to purchase a monument from them when arranging other funeral purchases.

What do I need to know when purchasing a cemetery monument?

It depends. Some cemeteries have restrictions on the monuments they accept, so it is a good idea to check with your cemetery first to find out what guidelines you must follow. You must also know how much you can spend; most styles can be adapted to fit any size budget. From here, you can decide on a monument style that expresses the life of you or your loved one. You can choose from a variety of shapes, sizes, colors, and materials for your memorial. Texas Lonestar Monuments will be happy to help you further customize your monument with text, engravings, and other decorations.

How can I order a custom cemetery monument?

Yes. Texas Lonestar Monuments will be glad to help you design a completely custom monument to commemorate your life or that of a loved one. We offer a wide variety of styles, shapes, colors, and materials. Please give us a call for a custom quote.

What materials are used in monuments?

It depends. Granite is the most popular monument material we use today because of its ability to withstand extreme climates and temperatures. Other materials include marble and bronze.

What is the expected cost of a monument?

It depends. The cost of monuments is based on many different factors, including size, material, and accessories. For more information about the cost of monuments, please contact us.

I found it cheaper online. Can you match the price?

No. Online monument companies typically charge around 80 percent of the price while doing about 50 percent of the work. They cut a stone and ship it in a box. They do not deliver to the cemetery, they do not set the marker, and they do not handle the cemetery office. At Texas Lonestar Monuments, nearly half of the labor and time in every monument is the installation itself. To set a monument properly takes a truck with a crane, lifting straps, lifting bars, setting compound, a concrete foundation, specialized tools, and the experience to know how to use them. It also takes the things that keep a crew on the road across Texas — tires, oil changes, insurance, and the wages of the people doing the work. If all we did was create a monument and ship it across the country, our prices would be lower too. We choose to do the whole job, from design through installation, because that is what a family deserves. Please give us a call for a custom quote and we will show you exactly what is included.

What is MemorialTag?

It's a scannable digital memorial. A headstone can only hold so much — but a life story deserves more. When scanned, MemorialTag opens a digital memorial where you can share unlimited photos, videos, voice messages, and written tributes. It preserves and shares your loved one's full story with family, friends, and future generations — all at no extra cost.
