Wichita Falls has buried its families at Riverside Cemetery since December 1879, when the first burial took place at what was then called Wichita Cemetery. The city has owned Riverside since 1892, and it also runs Lakeview and Rosemont on Southwest Parkway, all under one set of published rules. Those rules are specific about stonework. Grave markers must be one piece, with nothing set in a socket or in dowels, and all setting is supervised by the Superintendent. Crestview Memorial Park on Archer City Highway and Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery serve many Wichita County families too. Our workshop in San Angelo is about four hours south, and we deliver and set each marker ourselves, checking in with the cemetery office before we arrive. Every order starts with a free design proof. Families connected to Sheppard Air Force Base, and those in Iowa Park, Electra, and Henrietta, are welcome. Call (806) 662-8696 for a custom quote.
Ledgers and coping walls in Wichita Falls city cemeteries run into two published rules. Monuments must be set inside the lot or single grave space, and all stonework is set under the control and supervision of the Superintendent or an assistant. Coping built from separate pieces should also be checked against the city's one-piece rule for grave markers. For those reasons, the family should confirm with the office at Riverside, Lakeview, or Rosemont before ordering. Crestview Memorial Park and Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery do not publish rules. Where a ledger is approved, we cut it in granite and set it on a poured concrete foundation. Call (806) 662-8696.
Some cemeteries have restrictions on the monuments they accept. It is a good idea to check with your cemetery first to find out what guidelines you must follow. We will be happy to help you customize a monument that meets those guidelines.

It depends. The city's rules do not address ledgers by name, but they require monuments to sit inside the lot and all stonework to be supervised by the Superintendent. Confirm with the cemetery office before ordering.
Yes. Where the cemetery allows a ledger, we pour a new concrete foundation around the grave and set the ledger on top without disturbing the casket or vault.
Yes. The city's rules say grave markers must be in one piece, with no markers set in a socket or in dowels, and monuments must be set inside the lot or single grave space. The setting of all stonework is subject to the control and supervision of the Superintendent or an assistant.
It depends. The city's rule is that foundations are built two inches less in both width and breadth than the monument base, so the base size sets the foundation size. We send the base dimensions with the proof.
It depends. We found no published marker rules for Crestview Memorial Park or Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery, so the family should confirm size and style with the cemetery office before ordering.

It depends. Many older municipal and Catholic cemeteries allow ledgers and coping; many newer memorial parks restrict them. Send us the cemetery section in Wichita Falls and we will check the rule with the office before you order.
Yes. We pour a new concrete foundation around the grave and set the ledger on top. The casket and the existing vault are not disturbed.
It depends. A ledger covers the grave itself; a coping wall borders the plot. Many families install both — a ledger on each grave inside a shared coping border that defines the whole family plot.
It depends. The cemetery’s foundation rule and the design both set the thickness — thicker stone is heavier but lasts longer at the joints. We will recommend a thickness once we see the cemetery’s specification.
It depends. Many families choose an independent monument maker, but cemetery rules and installation requirements can vary. Ask your cemetery for its current written requirements and fees before ordering; we can help you review them.
