Fort Worth's oldest burial ground, Pioneers Rest on Samuels Avenue, dates to 1850 and holds General Edward H. Tarrant, the namesake of Tarrant County. When it filled, John Peter Smith donated land for Oakwood Cemetery on Grand Avenue in 1879. Today Fort Worth families also bury at Greenwood Memorial Park on White Settlement Road, Mount Olivet Cemetery on North Sylvania Avenue, Laurel Land Memorial Park on Crowley Road, and the Dallas–Fort Worth National Cemetery overlooking Mountain Creek Lake. Rules differ by cemetery and often by section, and both Mount Olivet and Laurel Land set aside some areas for flat markers and others for uprights. Our San Angelo workshop is about four hours from Fort Worth. We cut the stone there, send a free design proof, and deliver and set the marker ourselves. Families in Arlington, North Richland Hills, Haltom City, and Grand Prairie are welcome. Call (806) 662-8696 for a custom quote.
Mount Olivet Cemetery's published rules point Fort Worth families toward companion monuments in a particular way. In many sections, monuments are not allowed on single graves, so families purchase a double lot that takes one shared monument or marker over both spaces. A companion upright fits that arrangement, carrying both names on one tablet. Laurel Land Memorial Park also has upright gardens, and Oakwood and Greenwood Memorial Park should be confirmed with the office. Many families order after the first burial and leave the second date open for us to engrave later. Your free proof is drawn to scale in San Angelo. Call (806) 662-8696.
Some cemeteries have restrictions on the monuments they accept. It is a good idea to check with your cemetery first to find out what guidelines you must follow. We will be happy to help you customize a monument that meets those guidelines.
Marker rules change. We’ll confirm the current rules with the cemetery office and send you everything we get.

It depends. A companion upright uses one base instead of two, so the granite cost is often lower than two singles — but the engraving cost is similar. Please give us a call for a custom quote and we will price both options side by side.
