Houston's cemeteries run from Glenwood Cemetery, laid out in 1871 on Buffalo Bayou as the city's first professionally designed cemetery, to large Dignity Memorial properties like Forest Park Lawndale, Forest Park Westheimer, and Memorial Oaks on the Katy Freeway. Veterans are buried at Houston National Cemetery on Veterans Memorial Drive, where the VA furnishes government headstones and markers. Each has its own approval process. Glenwood, for example, requires written approval of plans before any monument goes up. Our workshop is in San Angelo, about six hours from Harris County, so we plan each Houston delivery carefully and set the marker ourselves. You get a free design proof showing lettering, artwork, and size before any granite, marble, or bronze is cut. Families in Pasadena, Pearland, League City, Conroe, and Sugar Land are welcome too. Call (806) 662-8696 for a custom quote.
Bronze flats are widely used across Houston's lawn cemeteries, and Forest Park Lawndale notes that its markers can be personalized in granite or bronze. We cast each plaque to the cemetery's base specification so it sits level on its granite base, which rests on a poured concrete foundation. Confirm the base size with the office at Forest Park Lawndale, Forest Park Westheimer, or Memorial Oaks, since none publishes its rules. At Houston National Cemetery, the VA furnishes flat bronze markers to eligible veterans, and private markers must be consistent with existing monuments. Glenwood requires written approval first. Proofs are free. Call (806) 662-8696.
